A front runner for the National Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayesu Ntim, has showered praises on President Nana Addo for his sterling performance within a short period as the President of the country.
Mr. Ntim who has been tipped by political pundits as the most favourite in the contest, has said the party is proud of Nana Addo’s performance so far.
According to him, his Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo is delivering and making NPP proud and as a party, they will continue to support him.
Our performance in government within this brief period is phenomenal and must be applauded by all. He mentioned among others the various initiatives and promises fulfilled as inspiring. These included among the few promises they have already delivered on namely, Free SHS implementation, Payment of Nursing Training students Allowances, Payment of Teacher Training students Allowances, Payment of NHIS arrears, Successful implementation of Planting for food and jobs, the appointment of the Special prosecutor to fight corruption, amongst others.
In his view, the bold steps taken by the government to restore the economy is good and that he would give his unflinching support to the President and the government to give more hope to the people.
“My partnership with President Akufo Addo will be solid enough to secure the party a resounding victory in 2020. Because of the impeccable performance displayed by the government, grassroot members will require a strong government-party relationship to improve the fortunes of the NPP in the next general elections, and I will offer that vital leadership”, Stephen Ntim said during the launch of his campaign in Accra.
“Nana Addo never gave up on his desire to serve the country. At a point the naysayers said there was no way he could become President of Ghana. Today, we can all see for ourselves. They are saying same to Ntim but what I want to assure the NPP party is that I have the competence and I will also deliver when the opportunity is given to me,” he said.
The New Patriotic Party will be going to the polls to elect their new national executives in July.
