Former Central Regional 1st Vice- Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Horace Ekow Ewusi, has rendered an apology to the Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading GUIDE Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako and investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, for wrongly accusing them of engaging in galamsey.
Mr Ewusi is also to cause a publication in the Daily Graphic newspaper and also appear on Accra-based Adom TV’s ‘Badwam’ where he made the accusation against our Editor-In-Chief, to offer the apology within a week.
Mr Baako sued Mr Ewusi for alleging in a TV interview in April 2019 that he [Baako] was engaged in galamsey and linked him to Alaska C & G Mining.
The apology formed part of a Settlement Agreement which was adopted by the Court, which recoded it as Consent Judgment dated 17 January, 2020. Published below is the full Settlement Agreement:
