McDan Adopts Two Brilliant But Needy Students …Places Them On Scholarship To University

Published in News Tuesday, 05 September 2017 12:08

The newly installed development chief of Ada Traditional area in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Daniel McKorley, under the stool name Nene Koranteng Kabu I, has set outprogrammes in his community to assist the needy and the less-privileged in the various Ada communities.

The Chief, who is also the Group Chairman of the MC Dan Group of Companies, was installed at the 80th Ada Asafotufiami held at the Ada, has adopted two needy but brilliant students of Ada as part of his support initiative to sponsor them through school.

According to Nene Koranteng Kabu I, he picked the two students: Courage Vigbedo Mawulorm, a 14 year-old JHS 3 student and Anita Dede Gyan, 12 year-old JHS 1 student during the festival.

According to him, he is prepared to see them through their Junior High School through to the university level as they are currently on his scholarship.

He also indicated that: "I want Ada to produce intelligent students and I will make sure that I raise Ada’s education to another level. I need the support of my people to keep the environment clean and I will respect the people of Ada and will serve them with all my heart as one of you".

According to him, education is the bedrock of every nation and that his decision to support the brilliant but needy students was borne out of the belief that the society would be a better place when the young ones are assisted through the educational ladder to become responsible future leaders.

Nene Koranteng Kabu I has also assured the people of fulfilling his promise of constructing a palace for the Paramount Chief of Ada Traditional Area and President of the Ada Traditional Council, Djetse Abram Kabu Akuaku III, which had been earmarked as one of the two main projects for the festival because the Ada State has existed for over 400 years without one.
