Uproar In Catholic Church ...Sunyani Diocese Bishop, Priests ‘Fight’

Published in News Tuesday, 07 November 2017 10:31

Information reaching The New Crusading GUIDE indicates that there is an ongoing misunderstanding among some Priests and the Bishop of Sunyani Diocese of the Catholic Church, Most Rev. Mathew Kwesi Gyamfi, over his alleged involvement in series of activities that the Priest think is putting the name of the Roman Catholic Church into total shame and disrepute.

The New Crusading GUIDE has gathered that after his consecration as Bishop of the Diocese in 2003, series of investigations revealed that his predecessor, the late Most. Rev. James Kwadwo Owusu, who sacrificed to lay solid founding for the Sunyani Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, in the Brong Ahafo region implemented a lot of good infrastructure such as education, health facilities, provision of boreholes support the needy within the church among others which are being collapsed by the administration of Most Rev. Matthew Kwesi Gyamfi.

This paper has gathered that the Diocesan pharmacy which was initiated by the late Most Rev. James Kwadwo Owusu to produce and supply drugs to the many hospitals within the Brong Ahafo Region has been sold out to a Canadian Global Pharmacy which our investigations revealed has folded up.

The Diocesan Pastoral and social center at Sunyani which is on the verge of collapse under the current bishop’s era has part rented the University for Development Studies and also part of the center has been earmarked for pastoral and training and formation of priests, and other religious activities and as result catechists, youth and the women groups cannot access the center as alleged.

It has also been established that the James Kwadwo Owusu Maternity Home at Wamanafoo has been changed to bishop Matthew Kwesi Gyamfi Polyclinic for no reason.

He has been accused of discrimination, favourtisim, abuse of power and injustice and takes delight in buying expensive and luxury cars for his comfort.

“He has bought three Toyota Land Cruisers and a Benz salon car without an approval from the diocesan heads. His dubious activities have rendered one of the Nuns her vocation. The care of souls is at stake in the Sunyani Diocese as a result of the bishop’s attitude,” a source revealed.

The Most Rev. Mathew Kwesi Gyamfi has leased the land of the Christ the King Cathedral in Sunyani to Barclays Bank for banking purposes for a huge sum of money and has also allegedly gives the information to the leadership of the church after taking every decision.

The banking hall according to source closed to our investigative team will lead to the collapse of the church financial institution called Brong Ahafo Catholic Co-operative and Society of Development (BACCSOD), a credit union belonging to the church which was established by the late Most. Rev. James Kwadwo Owusu in 1973 because is sited on the same premises.

“He has risked with the church’s money at the defunct DKM savings and loans which does not conform to the Roman Catholic Church rules,” the source revealed.

Sources indicated that most church members who have been suffering are calling for an urgent investigation by the top hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church into the activities of Mathew Kwesi Gyamfi in order to arrest the situation and save the Roman Catholic Church and its doctrines.

Meanwhile, when this paper contacted Bishop Mathew Kwesi Gyamfi on the issues, he pointed out clearly that the issues raised are untrue and that there is one Priest who has a mental sickness going round peddling falsehood on him adding that documents are there to prove his point in terms of jurisdiction.

He continued that the Brong Ahafo Catholic Co-operative and Society of Development (BACCSOD) are really doing well in the Micro Finance business.
