The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of the nation’s leading food processing company, Samba Foods Limited, Leticia Osafo-Addo, has promised to make the Ghana Association of Industries (AGI) more vibrant when voted for in tomorrow’s elections as president of the association.

Mrs. Osafo -Addo, who has received several awards both on the local and international front promised to invent many initiatives and interventions to help stimulate the growth and expansion in the industrial front when voted for in the elections.

Speaking in an interview with The New Crusading Guide paper, Mrs. Osafo-Addo, who is also the current national treasure of AGI, indicated that she has what it takes to ensure sanity as well as development in the Ghana’s industrial front in the coming years.

The Samba Foods CEO promised to present a united front to be able to articulate the concerns of Ghana industries to officialdom when elected.

“We have come a long way as an association being very much recognized as a credible institution but I must say we have been complacent in previous achievements but we know that this is not where we have to be, our front I am afraid to say has not been united as it ought to be and there are still untraded areas” she disclosed.

Mrs. Osafo-Addo, who has served and continue to serve on various government boards and institutions throughout Ghana and abroad, said her vision for the association was the rejuvenation of the association, building partnership with all stakeholders including development partners as well as breaking new grounds for the association.

She indicated that 80% of industries fall within the SME levels, saying that these companies have stagnated and remain small with very rudimentary, machines and equipment, assuring that her passion is to make sure these companies grow.

“I seek your endorsement for another opportunity to hold the highest office as the duty bearer of our cherished possession that has been bequeathed to us and to ensure that posterity inherits it in whole as an important factor to reckon with in national economic development” the Samba Foods CEO stated.

Mrs. Osafo-Addo, who holds a master’s degree from the University of Krekfeld-Germany assured of a total and radical revolution in industrial activities, where there will be a paradigm shift of the way businesses are done in the country.

“We can only maintain vitality within the association if there is care and concern for one another and a conscious effort is made to mentor and nurture budding and upcoming entrepreneurs and properly induct them into this great association. We must initiate ideas and plans to increase our visibility as the engine of economic growth” she hinted.

Mrs. Osafo-Addo who has represented AGI on many official trips outside Ghana noted that though there seem to a syndrome of Donor fatigue, maximal efforts must be made to woo all stakeholders to achieve the ultimate objectives of industries.

“As AGI we need to form skill sector council who will feed the Council for Technical Education and Training (COTVET) with the skills and competencies needed in order to train the right caliber of persons for industry” she disclosed.
