‘WE CARE FOR CHILDREN’ Donates to GA WEST EDUCATION Office

 “We Care for Children”, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), on Friday donated educational materials including text books in Ghanaian languages to the Ga West Municipal Education Office.

 

The gesture which cost thousands of Ghana cedis aims at enhancing teaching and learning of Ghanaian languages in public schools in the area.

Some of the books donated were, 1,200 Akuapem Twi text books, 400, Asante Twi text books, 700 Ga text books, 300 Ewe Text books and 300 read and write notes.

Addressing the press after the presentation, Director of the NGO, Apostle Michael Ankrah, indicated that the aim  of the organization is to help promote teaching and learning of Ghanaian languages in all schools across the country.

He said the organization has over one thousands text books written in several Ghanaian languages in stock and distributing them progressively to the schools across the country.

Apostle Michael Ankrah indicated that his organization has earlier donated Asante books to the Lower Denkyira Twifo-Heman District Education Office in the Central Region, the Anyaa-Sowutuom Municipal Education Office in the Greater Accra Region, the Koforidua Municipal Education Office, Cape-Coast Metropolis Education office and the Junkwaa-Frami Catholic Primary School in the Central Region.

“The “We Care for Children” organization is ready to help promote the study of the Ghanaian languages in the various schools in the country but cannot achieve our aim without supports form Ghana Education Service (GES), Ministry of Education, NGO’s and other individuals” he stated.

The Ga West Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Addo Dankwa Akufo, who received the items, thanked the organization for the gesture, saying that it would go a long way to enhance the teaching of learning of the Ghanaian languages at the various schools in the municipal.

 

The Ga West Municipal Director of Education, called on other organizations to emulate the “We Care for Children” organization gesture by assisting the Ghana’s educational system.
