The President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, after a careful assessment of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo’s speech at the Independence Square last Monday, 6 March, this year, has spoken highly of the President amidst words of commendation and likened him to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first President.
According to Mugabe, President Akufo-Addo, by virtue of the outstanding speech he delivered at the 60th anniversary celebration in Accra is the new Kwame Nkrumah for Ghana.
Mugabe, who was full of praise for his Ghanaian counterpart, was addressing the media yesterday at the Tang Palace in Accra.
The 93-year-old Zimbabwe President, the oldest and perhaps the only surviving member of the freedom fighters indicated that he was highly inspired by President Akufo-Addo’s speech during the Ghana@60 anniversary celebration.
He told the media that he learnt a lot from Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah during the revolutionary days and called for more economic partnership between his country and Ghana.
Robert Mugabe averred that President Akufo-Addo's address on 6th March had indeed inspired his people, bringing them hope for a better future- a characteristic of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The President of the South African nation who has ruled for over 40 years also charged Ghanaian to give out their best to support the transformation agenda of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
President Mugabe left the shore of Ghana this morning.
