The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has announced an increase in the allowances of Ghanaian peacekeepers from US$31 to US$35, effective January 2017, in fulfillment of a manifesto pledge of the New Patriotic Party in the run-up to the December 2016 elections.

The much anticipated 2017 budget of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government was yesterday read on the floor of Parliament by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

Outlining the various policy projections, programmes, and implementation plans in detail, the Finance Minister announced major tax cuts in government’s first budget statement as promised by President Nana Addo Dankwa during the last electioneering campaign.

 

The Board of Directors of Ghana Oil Company (Goil) has rendered an apology to President Nana Akufo-Addo after wrongly accusing him of breaching procedures in appointing a new head for the company.
