Teachers and students of the Akyem Tafo Presby Kindergarten and nursery can now breathe sigh of relief as the ordeal of teaching and learning in a dilapidated school block has been ameliorated by the Kyidomhene of the Akyem Tafo Traditional Area, Nana Adepa Amposah Yeboah I.
Nana AdepaAmposahYeboah I has constructed and commissioned an ultra-modern KG block with the state of the arts equipment at an estimated cost of Ghc 1.4 million.
It is an undeniable fact that most schools in the rural parts of the country are not in a good state.
One of such schools was the Kindergarten and nursery block of AkyemTafoPresby School as the school block had been in a deplorable state hampering teaching and learning.
It is against this backdrop that the Kyidomhene of the AkyemTafo traditional area constructed and commissioned the KG block with the State-of-the-Arts equipment for the school which hitherto had not been renovated for over fifty years.
According to Nana AdepaAmposahYeboah I, the motivational force behind her gesture to assist the school with the K.G bock was to ensure that education in the area is given another look.
She averred that education is the bedrock of every society hence; all efforts must be put in place to ensure that the right environment is provided for children to learn.
She also reiterated calls for other stakeholders to come to the aid of the school and appealed to the government to assist in the maintenance of the school.
Speaking in an interview shortly after the commissioning exercise, the Abuakwa North Municipal Director of Education, AbenaGyamena expressed gratitude to the Kyidomhene for her efforts in constructing the KG block for the school.
She was quick to add that the new block will contribute greatly in the enhancement of teaching and learning.
She also highlighted some challenges which is confronting them and the measures they have put in place to address those challenges.
