The National House of Chiefs (NHC) headed by Torgbe Afede XIV has confirmed and acknowledged Nii Ayi Okufuobour I as the substantive chief of the Ngleshie – Lafaa Barima under the James Town Stool of the Greater Accra Region.

The confirmation attests to the fact that Nii Ayi Okufuorbour I “was properly elected, nominated and enstooled by the accredited kingmakers and elders of Ajumanku Dawuranpong family of the late King Nii Armah Twetwegu I. It is worthy to note that Nii Ayi Okufubour I is the great grandson of the above named chief.

In order to consolidate his chieftaincy status, the Ga Traditional Council on Thursday 12th December 2019 issued the Ngleshie- Lafaa Barima stool with gazzete Number Nine Hundred and Forty Five (945.).

Speaking after the issuance of the gazette, Nii  Ayi Okufuorbour  said all truth-loving Gas must rally behind him in the transformation of the Ngleshie- Lafaa Barima quarters of Ga State and the ushering in of a new era of progress and prosperity.

Nii pledged to lead his people in the development of the town and called for support, co-operation and peace.

Nii implored them to focus on developing the area and cautioned them to be wary when dealing with land issues.

The Ngleshie- Lafaa Barima Mantse entreated his subjects to defend the land at the cost of their lives.

Nii Ayi Okufubour I pledged to defend the stool and appealed to the kingmakers to guide him in uplifting Ngleshie- Lafaa Barima in the interest of the Ga State and Ghana at large.
