The Western North Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. William Benjamin Assuah, has sent a word of caution to individuals and groups of people within the region who have resorted to creating divisions and perpetrating violence and hatred on the basis of who becomes the Municipal and District Chief Executive of the Nine (9) assemblies in the region.
In a communique he issued to that effect, he called on such persons to desist from such acts.
“Be informed that the appointment of all MMDCEs across the country is solely within the exclusive mandate of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and not the decision of a party stalwart.”
He further sent a strong caution to persons who have resorted to insults, creating factions and the rest in an attempt to discredit others, desist from such acts.
According to him, if an incumbent Chief Executive Officer’s work over the last four (4) years pleases the President and he desires to let such a person continue the tenure or otherwise, it is entirely the decision of the President.
He averred that this is the time to remain calm and resolute, knowing that the President knows what he is about and will definitely appoint individuals who are competent enough to man the various officials.
