The Divisional Chief of Gbetseli   in theKpone Traditional Area, NiiTeyeKojoAmankwah Sune I, has called on government to address the various developmental challenges confronting the area.

The chief stated that past government turned-deaf ears to the development challenges in the area, a situation that has created gaps in human and infrastructural development andthus, appealed to the current administration for support.

The chief noted that there are also problem with insecurity in the area, and believed thatthe best way to curtail it wouldbe the introduction of a 24 hour police patrol and operation in the area.

“We have for many years contributed our quota towards the development of the country through payment of tax and we must also be made to benefit from the sharing of the national cake” the worried chief stated.

NiiTeyeKojoAmankwah Sune I made this known at this year’s annual thanksgiving ceremony initiated by the chief and people of Gbetseli in collaboration with the Gbetseli local council of churches and the Muslims to raise funds in support of developmental projects in the community.

The ceremony was graced by many dignitaries, including community members, traditional leadersand, politicians.

The ceremony was also used to raise fund for the construction of school building at Soldier Line as part of enhancing quality education in the area.

Education, he said is the bedrock of the society, but there is only one government school within the area with a huge children population.

Education the traditional leader noted is the key to the development of every country and called for supports to promote quality education in the area.

NiiSune I appealed to the community to continue to contribute towards the development of the area for their own benefit.
