The youth of Ga-Adangbe have endorsed Rev. Helbert Nii Aryee Annan as their preferred candidate to represent them on the Council of State.
During a meeting with those who endorsed his candidacy on Tuesday, Rev. Helbert Nii Aryee Annan, expressed gratitude for his endorsement and said his core mandate was to represent the interest of the Greater Accra Region, to offer counsel and policy guidance to the President as well as other constitutional bodies on matters of national importance; when he is given the mandate.
He indicated at the meeting that his immediate task once he takes office will be to leverage on his influence as a Member of the Council of State to advocate for the pressing needs of the Region to be met. He said his goal is to make Greater Accra a hub for technological innovation where the youth can thrive, communities feel safe and the economy grow sustainably.
He said “my key priorities will be to: help tackle unemployment head-on and to advocate for proper affirmative action implementation, ffacilitate in providing decent paying jobs for the working population, support the youth grow through education and vocational training, help deal with the perennial issues of flooding, congestion and sanitation in the Region, and assist in tackling corruption, crime and security related issues.”
Rev. Helbert Nii Aryee Annan hails from Adjumaku Dawurampong in Ngleshi Alata (James Town), Accra. He is a result-driven leader who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the people in the Greater Accra Region.
Rev. Helbert Nii Aryee Annan is a Chartered Accountant by profession and he holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.
He is deeply passionate about the potential of Greater Accra Region and he is committed to making a positive impact in the Region.
Rev. Helbert Nii Aryee Annan is very young and approachable and the youth believe that they can always let him know their needs and he will always give them a listening ear for their problems to be solved.
He has dedicated himself towards working in the public sector over the years particularly Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority as well as Parliament of Ghana. He has deep understanding of governance and policy-making. He believes in evidence-based decision making. He also possesses extensive knowledge of the port and maritime industry.
