City Spaces, Construction and Property Brokering Company has been caught at the forefront of the illegal sale of parcels of land belonging to members of the Association of New Kitase Land Owners.
It had emerged that Amocad Limited has been busily encroaching and taking over the said lands with the support of one Sariki Abbas.
Meanwhile, this paper has established that, although, there is an interlocutory injunction on the land, Amocad Limited together with its workmen, assigns, and landguards, have mounted notices on the land and claiming ownership over it in blatant disrespect to the court order.
Amocad Limited has thus been using City Spaces to sell the lands to unsuspecting buyers.
City Spaces which is currently selling the ‘stolen’ lands has placed several advertisements on social media, putting the lands out for sale.
According to some of these advertisements, Plots are selling for GHS 60,000.
Although the land is in the Eastern Region, the company City Spaces claims it is in the Greater Accra Region.
But some details of its advertisements have revealed the exact locations of the lands being sold which have been identified as Kitase lands.
An advertisement on its Facebook wall reads, “20 acres of 70X100 lands
for sale near the Ayi-Mensah toll booth. These lands are titled by Land title and are problem-free. Documentation is processed immediately payment is made. These lands are suitably located and offer great views of the surrounding Aburi Mountains.”
It is obvious that City Spaces has also joined Amocad Limited to disregard the Court’s Interlocutory Injunction placed on the said lands.
A High Court in Somanya has placed an Order for Interlocutory Injunction on the said lands in Suit No. C1/19/2021, where Plaintiffs; Obaahemaa Nana KorkorNtim II and Nana AduAmpoma II, dragged Francis KoteiAfutu, Isaac DodziMordo, MrZumah, City Spaces Property Brokers and Amocad Limited (Defendants) to Court.
The Plaintiffs, in their Affidavit filed on March 3, 2021, prayed the Court for an order restraining the four defendants acting in themselves, their agents, workmen, Assigns and landguards from entering the land.
The Court presided over by Justice Mariam Sinare on May 10, 2021, ruled that the land in dispute between NiiAfutuBrempong III (Defendant) and NiiArmah Kwarteng on the one hand and Obaahemaa Nana KorkorNtim II, AbusuapanyinBarima Kofi SakyiKyidomheneKwakuAgyemang (Representing Asona Family of KitaseAkuapem) on the other hand, is valid and legally binding and that its terms must be specifically performed.
Meanwhile, City Spaces has availed itself as agents for the sale of the said lands on behalf of Amocad Limited.
Although attempts have been made to get the two companies comply with the Court order, they seem very determined in snatching the lands from their rightful owners even if it would mean making mockery of the Courts.
