News Desk Report
The Sub divisional Chief of Dome Faase, Nii Okunim Adamah has denied his involvement in the violence that erupted in the area which led to the assault of two military officers recently.
I has however accused one Philip sampah, as the person behind the violence and called on the Inspector General of Police to arrest him immediately.
Speaking to the New Crusading Guide in an interview, Nii Adamah blamed the rioting on Philip Sampah who he accused as a Landguard terrorizing indigenes and selling land indiscriminately in the area.
“Philip sampah is not a chief but goes around the various communities as a chief. He attacks people and takeover their lands and properties and sell. I don’t know him as a chief or a sub chief at Dome Faase. I therefore call on the IGP to arrest him immediately. He can never be a chief of Dome Faase. Nobody should deal with him over any land at Dome Faase. Three years ago he brought land guards to attack me and my sub chiefs. Had it not been the grace of God, he would have killed all of us”.
Nii Okunim Adamah, further denied his involvement in the violence. I was not part of the violence that resulted in the beating of the soldiers. I did not connive with the Mpaboahene or whatever they call him to sell the land as people are speculating. I am innocent” he stressed.
Narrating events leading to the violence in the area, Nii Okunim Adamah I said prior to the celebration of the Homowo festival in the town this year, he was informed about the arrival of some people in the town. “These people I was told were from Akyem Apedwa and had had gathered at the school car park to claim our land. I told my people to be patient since I would investigate the issue and should it be true I would take a legal action against them. So I immediately took steps to file legal action again these people since I was told they had already graded 100 acres of my stool land, not stated”.
“Dome Faase Stool Council legitimately controls over 2000 acres of land and we have lived on this lands for over four hundred years without any disturbance. We don’t share boundaries with Akyem Abuakwa so I am surprised that people from Akyem Abuakwa in the eastern region or their Mpaboahene would come and claim our land in the greater Accra Region.
In spite of that, Dome Faase shares boundaries with some smaller towns like Ashwerease Damang, Maame Dede which are Akyem towns in the eastern region.
We have about 300 communities in Obom Domeabra that have legitimate land demarcation without interference until the Mpaboahene started claiming ownership of our land.
We are however grateful to the Paramount Chief of Akyem Abuakwaa,Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin ,for setting records straight on the issue last week and denying his involvement . He is a wise man who will not shield wrong doing and I am pleased with what he has done. I hope to strengthen our relationship. We are however taking steps to take legal action against the Mpaboahene for illegally encroaching on our land, he added.
