The Queen mother of the Dome Market in the Greater Accra, Felicia Karley Amui, has described has described herself as the legitimate Queen mother of the market, and rubbished recent media publications questioning her legitimacy.
The queen mother noted that all the allegations leveled against her and the MCE, Janet Tulasi Mensah were false and should be ignored.
At a news conference in Accra yesterday, Madam Amui, made it clear that she is the legitimate Queenmother of the market, and described people calling for her resignation as evil. Characters who do not want the best for the market.
According to her, the GA East MCE has no hands in whatever that goes on at the market as people are speculating.
There were recent media publications that the GA East MCE, Janet Tulasi Mensah, had joined forces with Madam Amui an unqualified Queenmother at the Dome Market to engage in illegal activities.
According to the said report, Mrs. Mensah had allegedly been using her political position to intimidate and people at the market and based on that some aggrieved market women had plotted to install a new Queenmother.
The reports further indicated that the peace being enjoyed by traders in the Dome market over the years begun to erode when the MCE was appointed into office.
Madam Amui in a reaction, stated that the current woman parading herself as the queen of the market was destooled many year ago.
“I am the legitimate installed queen of the market and would continue to execute my role for the benefit of the market” she disclosed.
Madam Amui informed that she was installed by the chief and people of Gbese Traditional Area who are the legal owners of the market.
“I am the one who fought for the relocation of the market in the year 2012 and was later forced to lead the affairs of the market years thereafter.
“Every trader at the market knows am the legitimate Queen of the market and I don’t know why a single person would attempt to destroy my reputation
“Madam Amui hinted.
