A sod -cutting ceremony was held under the able-leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer of the Ga East Municipal Assembly, Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, for works to commence on a 2.5 kilometre Roads within the Abokobi Township.
The project which is being executed by Sikasem Company Limited is funded out of the Assembly’s Internal Generated Fund (IGF).
The colourful ceremony brought dignitaries together including the paramount Chief of the Abokobi traditional area.
The project forms part of the Government and the Assembly’s plans of assisting the municipality with massive developmental projects.
Addressing the media, the MCE disclosed that funds were fully ready for the execution of the project, meant to be completed within the stipulated three months period.
She called on the community members within the area to render the necessary supports to the contractor for a successful completion of the project.
“I want to assure all members within the municipality that my outfit is poised to ensure that massive development hits every corner of the area in the next few years” she disclosed.
The hardworking MCE also charged the contractor to ensure that the project was completed on time to serve it purpose.
Madam Kaakie Mann disclosed that the project forms part of Government’s year of roads agenda.
For his part the Contractor of the project, Maxwell Amponsah said “the project will be in two phases and the first phase starts from today and ends within the next three months”.
The second phase, Mr. Amponsah said shall resume at the end of the second phase.
He pleaded with the residence to support him for a successful completion of the project to serve its purpose.
