The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in their purchase of nine buses for Division-1 football clubs have been caught up in an untidy falsification of documents covering the buses.
Last year 2024, the GFA through it’s ‘clearing agent’ called Michael Osekre who is also the Bank Roller and Club President of Vision FC imported nine buses from Korea to be distributed amongst the Division-1 Clubs as part of awards or benefits to the various clubs in that division for performance in the 2023/2024 season.
But, according to our sources in Korea, based on the chassis numbers we forwarded to them, they were able to confirm authoritatively to this Paper that those buses were manufactured in 2008 and not 2014 as stated in the GFA’s clearing documents at the port.
The evidence adduced above clearly indicates that the GFA or it’s agent Michael Osekre falsified the year of manufacture of the buses just to beat the system/government over payment of penalties on over-age vehicles.
Per documents available, these buses arrived at the port in July 2024 and was cleared by 29th August 2024. However, it will interest readers to know and ask why up till date, non-of these buses have been registered in the name of the clubs even though the buses have been distributed to them already.
As of the time of filing this report, the Okwahu United bus is parked at the Ohene Djan stadium and rotting away, New Adubiase bus parked at the police station whilst the bus for Hohoe United was last seen at a workshop at Avenor as in the case of some other Division-1 club buses too.
…Stay tuned for more on FIFA procurement breaches amongst others as well as the real prices for the buses as against the GFA’s own quotation of Ghc575,000,00 for each bus.
