Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu Saluted For Recognizing Nananom

Some indigenes, royals and Center for the Vulnerable, a social pressure group made up of journalists in the West Akim Municipality have extended words of gratitude to their Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu for how he harmoniously and peacefully lives and works with the Asamankese Traditional Authority.

A Press Statement issued by the group pointed out the significant role played by the MCE in the welfare of Nananom since he assumed office. According to them the courtesy he accorded the chiefs has manifested among other things in the naming of public edifices after some traditional leaders including the Queen Mother of Asamankese, Nana Akosua Birikroma II and the mother of Osabarimah Adu Darko III.

They therefore believe such gesture and ingenuity must be appreciated and would only be frowned upon by authority with centrifugal partisan notion.

They therefore appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to re-appoint him as the MCE to continue his good works.

They also stated that Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu during his tenure as MCE of West Akim Municipal Assembly had fruitful engagements with Nananom and the traditional authorities and more than seven (7) stores at the Market B was allocated to the chiefs of Asamankese as the custodians of the land.

“A 5,000 litre polytank and mechanized water system was installed at the chiefs palace to obviate the perennial water shortage faced by Nananom. A support of not less than Ghc 8,000 every year towards the traditional councils annual Oboadwan Festival. The Chief of Asamankese, is made the chairperson of every national program organised within the municipality with the traditional council given full invitation and accorded all necessary protocols,” they stated.

The group also averred that, one of the MCE’s big ticket project of 165 unit market stores, built within one and half year has been named after the present Queen Mother, Nana Akosua Birikoramaa who happens to be the longest serving Queen Mother and the Mother of the present Chief of Asamankese, Osabarima Adu Darko ii

“In recognition of the role of Nananom in the municipalities development and a show of Honour to Nananom, the Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu gave a special Municipal Honour and Citation to the Obaahemaa and the Chief of Asamankese as part of honour system instituted by Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu to recognized the municipalities partners in development.”

Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu according to the group contributed to the amicable settlement of a lingering chieftaincy dispute against the chief of Asamankese and Annum thereby bringing complete peace to the municipality.

Among others, Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu also donated 50 bags of Cement to Anum Ahenfie to support the construction of Anum Chief Palace, donated 50 bags of Cement to Akenteng Traditional Council, donated 50 bags of Cement to Kobriso Traditional Council and gave representation to Chiefs in all the Assembly’s major Committees including its General Assembly and Scholarship interview Board.

The group stated also that, “The MCE has never missed the opportunity to be fully present for any traditional authority celebrations such as Akwasidae and Awukudae and has extended all the necessary protocols required in such occasions and has an excellent working relationship with all Traditional Authorities.”
