Ntori Agyabeng, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Fanteakwa South District in the Eastern Region has reacted to some allegations leveled against him by some Assembly members in the area.
In recent times, Assembly Members in the District have accused the DCE of an abysmal performance and also creating an unhealthy relationship in the area during his two-years term in office.
Despite that, the aforementioned Assembly Members are believed to have pleaded with President Akufo-Addo not to retain him in his second term in office.
Addressing the media , Mr. Agyabeng has denied those allegations, he said “I don’t even know the said assembly members who are clamoring for my exit from office and I want to emphasize that any assembly members that will claim that I underperformed in office or did not promote unity are a liar. Since I assumed office as the DCE I have united all assembly members irrespective of their parties”.
According to him, he is surprised at the Presiding Member whom he had worked with in the past years of spearheading their press conference.
“I have been able to do a lot in my two years in office. The common fund I received was used for a lot of projects and is of the view all funds the District received were properly used. I didn’t use the money anyhow”.
Giving an overview of what he has been able to achieve in his two-years term, he indicated that he has constructed six-unit classroom blocks in areas such as Nsutem, Osino, Osama, Hemang, and Pimpimso.
He added that uncompleted school projects he inherited have been done and also providing them with desks.
According to him, about 300 people with disabilities have benefited from social development. He said those he wanted startup programs were supported while those into trading were also assisted.
Touching on health, he stressed that due to the good relationship they had with World Vision they have been able to construct KIA medical center in Saman where they started constructing nurses’ quarters in some areas.
He said, under government flagship programs such as planting for food and job and planting for export and rural development he has been able to support farmers with the needed seedlings from their projects.
He said, over 7,000 coconut seedlings were disbursed to farmers but say 137 farmers have so far benefited from and have vowed to double it this year.
He lamented mechanized boreholes were provided to most of the communities and schools together with toilet facilities.
Mr. Agyabeng stressed that the aforementioned achievements under his auspices prove that he has not disappointed the people of Fanteakwa South.
He said, he has had a very good relationship with traditional leaders, party executives, and others in the area and is of the view the unity among them catapulted their victory in both parliamentary and presidential elections.
He said since he is not an autocratic leader, he had always consulted Chiefs and another executive in the area before projects are initiated.
He has therefore called on the public to treat the said allegations with the needed contempt it deserves, saying it is null and void.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs and Some opinion leaders of the area have petitioned the President to reappointed the DCE for the second time due to his good performance in the area
