Former President John Mahama has launched a political war against the Majority Chief Whip, also a Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, calling on the members of the opposition National Democratic Congress to find all means to let him lose the Nsawam seat.
According to Mr. Mahama, Frank Annoh-Dompreh is causing a serious problem for the NDC, especially in the Minority caucus in Parliament by influencing them to endorse every government business.
The former President said this when he met with the NDC Constituency Executives body at Nsawam on Wednesday, during his campaign tour to the region to meet the delegates on his second day.
He told the NDC Constituency Executives after meeting the delegates that, Annoh-Dompreh has managed to divide the Minority front, adding that it is his influence that is creating the problems between the leadership of NDC and the Minority Caucus in Parliament.
Already, there is a serious problem between the NDC members and the Minority Caucus in Parliament over their decision of voting on every government business, and they have been accused of being in bed with the NPP Majority Caucus of influencing them.
Mr. Mahama who expressed worried about how the Minority MPs are going against the party decision after instructing them to vote against any government business and going contrary pointed out clearly that he is going to do everything possible by giving the party the necessary resource to cause Annoh-Dompreh’s defeat since he (Annoh) is his target.
The Majority Chief Whip of the 8th Parliament, Frank Annoh-Dompreh since he assumed the office has managed to go the extra mile to always build consciousness with the Minority group in Parliament to endorse any government business, even though the NDC leadership has tried on many occasions to influence their MPs to votes against government businesses.
It has been reported that Annoh-Dompreh has built good relationships with most of the NDC MPs, especially their leaders, which the NDC National Executives are not happy with it, and have accused Annoh-Dompreh of influencing the NDC MPs to side with the NPP to vote on any government policies and Ministerial nominees.
Due to that and among other allegations, the NDC leadership led by Chairman Aseidu Nketia and Fifi Kwetery recently took an autocratic decision by removing the Tamale North MP, Haruna Iddirisu, and Mutaka from the Minority Leadership role respectively in a Rambo style without their knowledge.
Aside from the Parliamentary issue, Annoh-Dompreh has also been launching Political attacks on the former President, John Mahama by exposing his deeds in the past NDC government.
However, unhappy Mahama who seems he wants to take revenge says he will do everything possible for Annoh-Dompreh to lose his seat.
