The chief of Kade in the Kwaebibirem municipality in the Eastern region, Osaaberima Asare Twe ll, is inviting all and sundry to what he says would be one of the most peaceful ceremonies in his traditional area tomorrow, Saturday, 15 September 2023.
The occasion is the 40 Day Observance of the late queenmother’s demise, and Osaberima Asare Twe has assured, in the face of the destooled chief, Agyare Tenadu threat of violence that the funeral rite would be perhaps the most peaceful.
He told this paper in an interview when we drew his attention to the former chief’s effusions, that all the necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the memory of the late queen mother, Obaapanin Akua Fosua, is respected.
“Kwame Apau is invited to the 40 Days Observance but not to come and stir trouble. That one, the security people will deal with it but everybody is invited to the rite. If indeed he wants the law to work as he has stated, he should come as the former chief, sit quietly and observe what would go on tomorrow, but no one would allow him to cause trouble. The police will be there to deal with it,” the Kade chief told this paper.
Recall that in a thinly-veiled threat which has put the over 40,000 predominantly farming community into a state of fear and panic and nearly marred the funeral rites, Kwame Apau threatened that “I say emphatically that I am the valid sitting legal chief of Kade and it is not proper nor lawful for Twum Debrah to come here on Saturday pretending that he is another Kadehene.”
Like the Ostrich, that goes to muddy the water at one end and goes to another end to ask what has happened, the man dishing the threat to Kade township and its chief and elders is appealing to the government and all persons in positions of authority, that “I WANT THE LAW WORK. The IGP, the Chief Justice, Speaker of Parliament and all those who matter should make sure that the law works.”
At a press conference at Akyem Kade on Sunday 10th September 2023, Kwame Apau, earlier known as Agyare Tenadu admitted that he did not knowing anything about the preparations leading of the 40 Days Observance of the late queenmother, which has the Okyenhene as the chief mourner until he gleaned from an invitation letter which was signed on behalf of the Oseawuohene of Wenchi.
“When I looked at the letter, I saw that his majesty the Okyehene is the principal mourner, he is my overload, I give him all the respect, Kade belongs to him” but cannot come to terms with why the same letter recognises Osaberima Asare Twe I as the chief of Kade.
