The Ambassadors for Peace and Justice has presented National Excellence Award to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the New Juaben South Assembly, Ike Appaw – Gyasi for being the 2nd best performing and Outstanding Municipal Chief Executive for 2019/2020 in the Eastern Region.
The CEO of the award scheme Mohammed Bashir Tijani noted in the citation that the MCE’s have four quality leadership styles such as; Trust, Vision, Knowledge, and Integrity also a zeal to develop his Municipality, and improve upon the well-being of his constituents was remarkable which makes his leadership outstanding.
In his acceptance speech, the MCE thanked the Directors of Peace and Justice Foundation for the recognition and also thanked the Assembly Members, chiefs, and Staff of the Kwahu Municipal Assembly for their unwavering support.
He acknowledged that he could not have worked on many projects in the Municipality without the support of Koforidua residents.
Talking about his achievements, he said his tenure saw to a lot of developmental projects also the provision of farming inputs such as high-quality seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides e, etc. to support the activities of farmers in the electoral areas within the Municipality.
He said currently his outfit is undertaking massive projects, which he referred as “Legacy Projects” such as the construction of 3 storey multi-purpose administration block, funded by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), construction of drainages to help cub flooding in the municipality, construction of an ultra-modern Koforidua Central Market, the construction of a new court complex and bungalows for the judges and the redevelopment of the Koforidua Jackson Park.
Meanwhile, residents have since appealed to President Akufo-Addo to reappoint Isaac Apau-Gyasi as their MCE to complete all projects started under his watch.
