A landowner at Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region has accused Supt Daniel Yao Danzi stationed at the Tesano Police Station of using his position and alleged links to land guards to intimidate him in an ongoing dispute over a parcel of land.
The officer, identified as Daniel Yao Danzi is alleged to have previously served as a crime officer at the Adenta Police Station and is currently a crime officer at the Tesano Police Station.
According to the landowner, the dispute concerns a parcel of land near the Ogyaba Church area at Abokobi, which he claims ownership of and intends to develop.
He alleged that when he went to the property yesterday to commence development work, the police officer confronted him and allegedly called in land guards to prevent him from working on the site.
The landowner further alleged that Daniel threatened to kill him and bury him on the disputed property if he continued visiting the land.
He said the incident had heightened his concerns about his safety and the security of his property.
The landowner also alleged that the police officer’s property shares a boundary with his land and accused him of attempting to take advantage of the proximity of the two properties to gain control of the disputed parcel.
He claimed that the alleged use of land guards and the officer’s position within the Ghana Police Service had made it difficult for him to peacefully develop and protect his property.
The landowner is appealing to the police command to intervene and call the officer to order, saying he is prepared to pursue lawful avenues to protect his property.
He said he would not relinquish ownership of the land through intimidation and urged the police administration to ensure that the matter was handled fairly and that no individual used public office to influence a private property dispute.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the response of the police officer and the Ghana Police Service to the claims was not immediately available.
The matter is expected to require clarification of the ownership and boundaries of the property, as well as investigation into the alleged threats and involvement of land guards.
