Traditional leaders of Nii Boiman Sub-Divisional Council of the Asere-Kotopon quarter of the Ga Traditional Council have reiterated the destoolment of the Chief of NiiBoiman, NiiArmarNoryaa I, for gross insubordination towards his kingmakers, flouting the oath and illegal installation of sub-chiefs.
It will be recalled that, NiiArmarNoryaa I, known in private life as Elliot YarteyBoi, was destooled on September 12, 2020, at NiiBoiman when he was planning to celebrate the Homowo.
Briefing the media in Accra, the Kingmaker, AsereDzaasetse, NiiAmarkai III, explained that the destooled Chief has been disrespectful and impolite to the stool and elders of the community who enstooled him saying; keeping him as the Chief will be problematic and a threat to his people.
According to him, NiiArmarNoyaa I, had always shown gross disrespect to the leaders and never listened to them and takes decision on his own, without consulting the elders.
NiiAmarkai III, disclosed that after a deliberation by the various esteemed Asere-Kotopon Chiefs, pointed out that NiiArmarNoryaa I, breached the customs and traditions of the Ga State, which is punishable and subsequently demanded him to cease parading himself as the Chief of NiiBoiman henceforth.
He reiterated that the Asere-Kotopon Stool had on several occasions warned the destooled Chief on issues ranging from illegal sale of lands and enstoolment of his Muslim Chiefs without their consent among other violations.
The AsereDzaasetse also accused Elliot YarteyBoi of making fake documents and extorting monies from innocent people in the community.
NiiAmarkai III, noted that NiiArmarNoryaa I has since, his destoolment, being restrained from performing any chieftaincy activity at a sitting by the Judicial Committee of the Ga Traditional Council but refused to adhere to it.
According to him, the Traditional Council was notified about his attempt to celebrate the 2020 Homowo festival and based on the above notification; he was served a letter on Saturday, 12 September, 2020 to stop him from such celebrations.
According to him, various Police Commanders were copied but he refused to accept his copy by threatening the Sender.
NiiAmarkai III seized the opportunity to admonished public not to transact any business with Elliot YarteyBoi as the Chief of NiiBoiman, saying anyone doing business with him does so at his or her own risk.
He concluded by calling on all the chiefs installed by the destooled Chief to also abdicate themselves since they were installed illegally.
