Grassroot members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Atwima Mponua constituency of Ashanti region are raising red flags against their current constituency executives as far as the selection of DCE is in concerned.
According to them, the depreciation of votes for the NPP in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary election results was caused by the current constituency executives lead by Mr. Isaac Kofi Marfo, and the District Chief Executive (DCE) Yaw William Darko.
They also averred that it was the previous constituency executives that helped the party to win a huge difference of over sixteen thousand votes against NDC.
Comparing the previous leadership to this current one, they noted that they have performed poorly hence a fall in the vote from sixteen thousand to two thousand which.
“This is very dangerous to the future of the party in case any member of these team becomes DCE for the same district,” they stated.
They are pleading with the government to appoint someone who knows the philosophy of winning numbers for the party and loved everyone and can also work with everyone like the previous constituency executives.
They averred that the current crop of leaders has failed them and there must be conscious efforts to change them for a brighter future of the party in Atwima Mponua district.
