King makers of the Annor We Royal Family of Prampram in the Greater Accra Region have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), to as matter of urgency intervened in the current chieftaincy dispute in the Prampram Traditional Area.
The leaders of the Family, which comprises of the Abbey/DokuMansro We, TettehDzan/LarbiAgbo We and KweiOpletu We have noted with concern how the dispute has gone a long way to affect the development and the peace in the area.
They have indicated that the situation has currently placed the community on a time bomb.
In a statement signed by the Stool Father of the Abbey We Family, SeitseNiiOsabu Abbey, he accused one Nene TettehWakah, claiming to be the chief of the area as the main cause of the sudden situation.
The statement underscored the need for the IGP to quickly intervene to deal with Nene Wakah for the benefit of the good people of Prampram.
According to NiiOsabu Abbey, Nene Wakah has hired the services of armed muscled men who have been putting fear and panic in the people.
He said Prampram currently planning to install a legitimate leader who would lead to the development of the area.
“Prampram has only one ruling House from which a chief is nominated, selected and installed and that is Annor We. There are however three gates in AnnorWe from which a candidate is submitted for enstoolment as the Paramount Chief. The said Michael Quarcoopome Parker who has been parading himself as the Paramount Chief of Prampram with the Stool name Nene TettehWakah III is from Tsaweynya clan which is not part of Annor We” the statement stated.
According to the statement Michael Quarcoopone was rather illegally installed by some faceless people including one TeiLarbi Abbey whose capacity was challenged and same ruled against by the National House of Chiefs as one that does not hold the locus to install a chief.
The statement also disclosed that it is therefore inferring that whoever the said TeiLarbi Abbey installs as a chief becomes illegally installed Chief.
“It is time for the people of Annor We, the only Royal Family with the preserve to install a Paramount Chief and it is therefore surprising that someone will insight the Police against the Royal Family in its quest to properly install a Paramount Chief for Prampram,” the statement further disclosed.
The statement further described Mr. Michael Quarcoopone, alias Nene Tetteh Waka III as an imposter and thus must be disregarded.
Mr. Abbey, through the statement said a Member of the Council of State, Mr. E.T Mensah’s attempt to resolve the issue has never materialized due to complexity.
They have therefore called on President Akufo Addo, Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture, Mr. Kennedy Agyepong to step in and help resolve the Chieftaincy dispute in the area.
The statement further alleged that Mr. Michael Quarcoopone threatened to make blood flows if the Family continues to install a new chief.
