The Parish Priest of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at Kotobabi in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, Fr. Dominic Amegashitsi has admonished the new members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) of the Parish to be courageous in sacrificing their lives as leaders to proclaim the message of Christ.
Inducting into office a 32- member Councillors with C/Supt Firmin Akongzirigo Azitariga of the Ghana Police Service as the Chairman on January 3, 2021, Fr. Amegashitsi asked them to be zealous in the discharge of their duties as Counsellors and assured them of his maximum cooperation to move the Parish a higher pedestal.
He expressed appreciation to the outgone PPC for their dedication and foresight and prayed that they would lend their unflinching support to the new Councillors.
C/Supt Azitariga, one of the founding fathers of the Kotobabi Church, pledged to continue spiritual and developmental projects of the outgone PPC and called for unity among the parishioners which he noted is a prerequisite for spiritual and infrastructural development.
He assured the Parish of the new PPC’s cooperation with the Parish Priest to enhance the pastoral plan and programmes of the St, Francis Xavier Parish.
Meanwhile, at the same ceremony, the leadership of the Parish Youth Council (PYC) was as inducted into office after all the executives were retained for another two years due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent directives for a suspension of Church activities all over the country.
Both the PPC and the PYC will serve a two year-term 2021 to 2022.
