The new Crusading GUIDE can categorically report that there is a chieftaincy row brewing between Omanhene of New Juabeng traditional Area, Daasebre Oti Boateng and Okyehene Amoatia Oforipayin II.
The simmering tension stems from a decision to sideline the New JuabenTraditional Area in the selection of Divisional Chiefs in the Eastern Region to become members of the Regional House of Chiefs.
In a strongly worded statement to the National House of Chiefs, Daasebre Oti Boateng stated that “I have been hinted of a decision of your august National House to include Divisional Chiefs in the Eastern Region as members of the Regional House of Chiefs. However, the way the said inclusion is said to be structured leaves much to be desired.”
Obviously agitated by the move, the chief who described the said decision as weird went ahead to raise issues with the fact that one specific traditional area has taken virtually 100% representation, adding that “the unique perspective to exclude New Juaben from the Regional House of Chiefs is bizarre. No one can understand where the idea came from. This is against the backdrop that Akyem Abuakwa has submitted as many as Sixteen (16) Divisional Chiefs to be included in the New Structure”
According to him “The composition as it stands or as it is being proposed is a steamy reactive delivery and unpleasantly obtrusive. It is a take-over bid by the newcomers who have come in their huge numbers. Eventually, all the Paramount Chiefs will lose their say at the House and be voted out on all issues during deliberations”
Daasebre feared that there was a sinister motive embedded in the decision, probably to bring one particular traditional area to reach the ZENITH of its VISIBILITY and INFLUENCE within the CHIEFTAINCY hegemony in Ghana.
The ratio of proportionality, he said, leaves several questions unanswered as Akyem Abuakwa has taken 16 slots and New Juaben has zero. “One wonders how this scenario will play out. All the Divisional Chiefs in New Juaben have been thrown into doldrums without a single representation”, he added
He proposed the placement of a cap on the representation by the Divisional Chiefs where minimum and equal numbers should be allowed, arguing that, If matters are allowed to stand as they are now, some Paramount Chiefs, through the numerical strength of their Divisional Chiefs will seek to be prominent and promote their QUEST to be SUPREME.
He was of the view that “if a cap is imposed, all the chiefs who would constitute the New House can continue with the team-spirit and enjoy and share the Power of Togetherness instead of a hidden agenda of INORDINATE AMBITION to become the “be-all” or “end-all” on the part of a particular paramountcy”.

Protestation against the composition of the re-structured EASTERN REGIONAL HOUSE OF CHIEFS
I have been hinted of a decision of your august National House to include Divisional Chiefs in the Eastern Region as members of the Regional House of Chiefs. However, the way the said inclusion is said to be structured leaves much to be desired.
To start with, one particular paramountcy, that is, New JuabenTraditional Area, has been left out altogether. Other paramountcies have been given nominal representation.
Paradoxically, one specific traditional area has taken virtually 100% representation. The unique perspective to exclude New Juaben from the Regional House of Chiefs is bizarre. No one can understand where the idea came from. This is against the backdrop that Akyem Abuakwa has submitted as many as Sixteen (16) Divisional Chiefs to be included in the New Structure.
The ratio of proportionality leaves several questions unanswered. Akyem Abuakwa has taken 16 slots and New Juaben has zero. One wonders how this scenario will play out. All the Divisional Chiefs in New Juaben have been thrown into doldrums without a single representation.
There is something sinister here, probably to bring one particular traditional area to reach the ZENITH of its VISIBILITY and INFLUENCE within the CHIEFTAINCY hegemony in Ghana.
The composition as it stands or as it is being proposed is a steamy reactive delivery and unpleasantly obtrusive. It is a take-over bid by the newcomers who have come in their huge numbers. Eventually, all the Paramount Chiefs will lose their say at the House and be voted out on all issues during deliberations.
One would expect that there should be a cap on the representation by the Divisional Chiefs and minimum and equal numbers should be allowed.
If matters are allowed to stand as they are now, some Paramount Chiefs, through the numerical strength of their Divisional Chiefs will seek to be prominent and promote their QUEST to be SUPREME.
If a cap is imposed, all the chiefs who would constitute the New House can continue with the team-spirit and enjoy and share the Power of Togetherness instead of a hidden agenda of INORDINATE AMBITION to become the “be-all” or “end-all” on the part of a particular paramountcy.
