The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced a nationwide increase in the price of sachet water, effective Monday, April 6, 2026.
In a statement issued on April 2, the association said the adjustment has been necessitated by rising production costs, particularly due to a global shortage of polymers. According to NASPAWAP, the situation has been worsened by the ongoing conflict in Iran, which has disrupted supply chains and driven up the cost of raw materials.
The association noted that producers are struggling to maintain current prices under the prevailing economic conditions.
Under the new pricing structure, a bag of 30 sachets of 500ml water will sell at GH¢8 at the factory level, GH¢10 at the wholesale (ex-truck) level, and a maximum of GH¢15 at the retail level.
NASPAWAP is urging both retailers and consumers to comply with the revised prices to promote fairness across the market.
The association added that the increase is critical to sustaining production and ensuring the continued availability of safe drinking water across the country.
