Events and activities in Asamankese in the Eastern Region are expected to get bloody in the coming days as factions in the protracted chieftaincy disputes prepare to clash in a bid to control the Royal Palace.
The chief of Aworasa Barima Pobi Asomaning II, with the support of the Abrade family has called on the President, Nana Akufo Addo, Minister of National Security and the Minister of Chieftaincy Affairs to intervene in the Asamankese Chieftaincy dispute to let peace prevail.
Speaking to the media in an interview, Barima Pobi said several cases have been won at the Court against the self-acclaimed Chief of the town, Kwasi Obeng but he still carries himself as chief, an act that has infuriated the royals.
Addressing the media, Barima Pobi II said Asamankese could experience mayhem as the legitimate royals prepare to enter the palace on Ohum festival to sack the self-acclaimed chief, Kwasi Obeng.
The royals of Asamankese have given a two day ultimatum for Kwasi Obeng to vacate the palace or would be moved by force on the day of Ohum.
