There is growing tension at the Adenta Police Station following the refusal of the Divisional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Daniel Yao Dzansi, to comply with a transfer directive issued by the Ghana Police Service.
According to a police officer posting released on May 9, 2025, C/Supt. Dzansi was transferred from the Adenta Divisional CID in the Greater Accra Region to the Regional Crime Office at the Savannah Regional Command (SVR). He was to be replaced by DSP William A. Sadique, formerly of the Okpoi-Gonno District Crime Office, who has since reported to his new post.
However, over a month since the directive, Chief Superintendent Dzansi has refused to vacate his post and continues to lock his office, making it impossible for DSP Sadique to assume his duties. This development has created a logistical and administrative impasse at the station, causing disruptions to operations.
Sources at the station indicate that Chief Superintendent Dzansi has petitioned the Regional Police Command, citing personal reasons for his refusal to comply with the transfer. Reportedly, he claims that his doctor has advised him against relocating outside Accra, a claim that appears to have an influence on his decision to defy the official orders.
