Over one hundred widows within the Ablekuma Central Constituency, on their own volition, yesterday, picked nominations form for a businessman, Collins Amoah, to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary in the area.
The gesture by the widows was to thanked the businessman for his benevolence to them for the past years.
The businessman, this paper gathered, has been paying monthly salaries to the widows within the area for the past two years as a way of showing them love.
Speaking with the media after presenting the nominations form to Mr. Amoah in his office, Madam Comfort Tima, the leader of the widows said “we organised ourselves and raised the money to picked the forms for Mr. Collins Amoah to demonstrate our love for him.”
She disclosed that, Mr. Amoah has over the year showed them love as widows, saying that the gesture formed part of their little way of appreciating the love by the businessman.
Madam Tima also stated that Mr. Amoah’s love for them over the years demonstrates what he is capable of offering the entire people of Ablekuma Central when given the green light to represent them in Parliament come 2025.
She also disclosed their readiness to massively campaign for Mr. Amoah to become an MP when elected as a parliamentary candidate by the NPP.
Addressing the gathering after receiving the nominations form from the widows, Mr. Collins Amoah thanked them for the love demonstrated to him and promised to be a democratic leader when given the power to represent the people in Parliament in 2025.
“I’m very happy that the little love I have showed to the Widows and other people within the constituency over the past years has been recognised,” he happily stated.
He described himself as unifier and promised to ensure that unity prevailed among party executives when elected as a Parliamentary Candidate (PC) to help the NPP win back the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2024.
He noted that the only way the NPP could win the parliamentary seat and also increase the party’s presidential votes in the area is when they stand united as party members.
Job creation, Mr. Amoah said is his top most priority and promised to ensure that employment opportunities were created for all people within the constituency when elected as MP.
“When elected as MP, my entire four years’ salary would be given to the constituency to support the well-being of our delegates,” the businessman assured.
