A notorious fraudster, Richard Agbadzi, (published), who disguises as a representative of Dzata Cement, and has been duping unsuspecting individuals via phone has been arrested, with seven other suspects in a series of related offenses.
He is also the ringleader of the ring of scammers that have given the company troubles for months. He has confessed to all the charges levelled against him by the Police Special Cyber Team.
As part of his operations, Richard creates a fake website under the name of Dzata Cement and publishes falsified information such as advertisements and promotions as well as a false address on Google Maps.
Richard also hacked into WhatsApp platforms and have his associates create false Dzata Cement social media accounts to impersonate company employees. He took some of the pictures from Dzata Cement’s social media accounts with the aim of making them authentic.
“We would like to thank the Inspector General of Police, COP DR. George Akuffo Dampare, and his team for institutionalizing the clamp down on these cyber-related crimes and also including Dzata Cement Limited’s fraud related crimes in the project,” allies of Dzata Cement told this paper yesterday.
