Parliament Approves Ato Forson, Jinapor & Ayine

Parliament has approved the first batch of ministers nominated by President John Mahama following their vetting by the Appointments Committee.

Parliament has approved Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister of Finance, Dominic Ayine and John Jinapor as Ministers of Finance, Justice and Attorney General and Energy respectively.

The House approved the nominees on Tuesday, 21 January after a debate. The three were the first to have been nominated by President John Dramani Mahama.

Cassiel Ato Forson has been confirmed as Minister for Finance, a role expected to leverage his extensive experience in fiscal policy to tackle Ghana’s economic challenges.

Dominic Ayine, who will serve as Attorney General and Minister for Justice, pledged to uphold the rule of law and strengthen Ghana’s justice system.

John Jinapor, approved as Minister for Energy, vowed to revolutionise Ghana’s energy sector by ensuring reliable power supply and promoting renewable energy initiatives. Jinapor’s responses during his vetting were lauded for their depth and clarity, particularly his plans to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and enhance energy efficiency.
