All 18 MMDCE Nominees Unanimously Confirmed In V/R

In a significant show of unity and political cohesion, all 18 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) nominees of President John Dramani Mahama have been unanimously confirmed by Assembly Members across the Volta Region.

This was disclosed today by a key regional figure who joined the Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, and the Regional Executives led by Chairman Hon. Mawutor Agbavitor to conclude the endorsement ceremonies. The process marks a milestone in aligning local governance structures with the President’s ambitious RESET agenda.

“I wish to personally thank all Honourable Assembly Members in the Volta Region for rallying behind the President’s nominees and confirming them unanimously,” he stated, expressing gratitude to the grassroots leadership for their cooperation and commitment to national development.

Over the past few weeks, the Regional Minister and executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have traversed the region, overseeing confirmation processes in various districts and municipalities. Their efforts culminated in today’s unanimous confirmation of all 18 nominees — a feat hailed as a testament to the region’s readiness for accelerated development.

“I must commend the unity and forward-thinking approach that our Assembly Members have displayed. Their commitment is a clear indication that our Municipal and District Assemblies are ready to align with the President’s RESET agenda,” he emphasized.

The RESET agenda, which is central to President Mahama’s policy direction, focuses on revitalizing key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, sanitation, and youth empowerment. The confirmed MMDCEs are expected to spearhead the implementation of these initiatives in their respective jurisdictions.

“Confirming the President’s nominees unanimously means we have moved from planning to action—delivering on roads, schools, health centres, sanitation, youth empowerment, and the many other initiatives our communities urgently need,” he added.

With this resounding show of support, the Volta Region is poised to become a model of unity-driven development under the leadership of President Mahama and the NDC. The newly confirmed MMDCEs are now tasked with translating policy into tangible progress at the local level, with the backing of a region united in purpose.
