Scores of the residents in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region are appealing to President Akufo – Addo to ‘’blesses and endorses” the Eastern Regional First Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Umar Bodinga as the MCE of the Abuakwa North.
According to the residents especially the members of the ruling Party, Alhaji Umar Bodinga deserves the position 100% due to his competence, hard work, and commitment to the party, therefore this is the time for him to be rewarded.
The residents noted that the combined effect of his political experience and knowledge on the local governance and its nexus owing to his service as a former Assembly member and government appointee for many years, make him an outstanding choice for the job.
One Steven Asiedu explains to this portal that, considering the other aspirants, Alhaj Bondinga is a grassroots man who deserves the position so that he can connect the party members since he is a unifier, and also fix the factions in the constituency, hence appealing to the President to appoint him.
Meanwhile, the NPP firebrand in the region, on many radio interviews has promised to bring development to the Abuakwa North Municipality if he is appointed the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.
According to him, due to his competencies and relations, he can “showcase Abuakwa North for the whole world to see its wonderful works”.
He earlier disclosed that this first ambition of becoming an MCE in the Abuakwa North Municipality is to rescue the developmental projects and the policy of the president which the Municipal have their share.
Alhaji Bondinga who was born and bred in Kukurantumi where he has spent his entire life since 1996, was part of the first constituency Executives who pout the now president of the Republic of Ghana, HE. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to parliamentary.
He was the constituency second Vice of the first executives for Abuakwa central since 1996 up to the splitting of Abuakwa North and South in 2004.
He has been a second vice chairman for the NPP for 6 years before he contested for the Regional second vice chairman in which he won for one term.
He was the Assembly member since 2001 in the then East-Akyem District Assembly in which the minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Amoako Atta was a presiding member.
