The Concerned Traditional leaders of Shai-Osudoku Traditional Area, in the Greater Accra Region, haveappealed to President Akufo Addo not to appoint Fred Offei, as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Municipal Assembly.
According to the traditional leaders, Fred Offei does not hail from the area and therefore has nothing to offer the good people when he becomes the MCE.
They accused Fred Offei of having a poor records in the area in terms of his human relations and attitude towards the indigenes in the municipality.
Speakingwith this paper Setse of Kordiabe, SetseKwaoAdade, disclosed that Mr. Offei hails from both Akuapem-Larteh and Ningo and knows nothing about the area as one might think.
According to him, Mr. Offei who is also the current New Patriotic Party (NPP)chairman for the Shai-Osudoku Constituency has failed the party in the area for years.
The Traditional leader also noted the NPPs abysmal performance was due to the arrogance nature of Mr. Offei.
“We are ‘Shais’ and cannot allow a stranger who knows nothing about the area to come and rule us” the Setse disclosed.
The Setse further disclosed that Mr. Offei is a Niece of the Former DCE for the area in the erstwhile Kufuor’s administration, where he made indigenes lose acres of lands to the people of Akuapem because his family membersin Ningohavelinks with the Akuapems.
On his part, the Spokesperson for the Takporm Family of DodowaHiomeAgormeda, Mr. Emmanuel Madji, stated that the parents of Mr. Offei are currently fighting ‘Shais’ over their legally acquired lands saying his appointment would spell doom for the chiefs and people of the municipality.
He declared their preparedness to demonstrate against the government if Mr. Offei is imposed on them.
“We know President Akufo Addo is a listening leader and we therefore believe he would listen to our appeal and ignore Mr. Offei” Mr. Madji stated.
The Family Spokeperson fumed that they are ever ready to work with anybody from any other area or tribe apart from Mr. Fred Offei.
