Shiashi Lorry Station Land Under Threat

Information reaching this paper has indicated that, some people have unduly taken over the Shiashi lorry station parcel of land without proper consultation with the owners of the said land.

The action by the said individuals to take over the land is against the Courts since the matter surrounding the ownership of the said land is currently pending before the Court.

Meanwhile, a visit to the site have revealed that the land is currently being graded with sand and stones deposited on the land for the commencement of a project.

Meanwhile, elders of Shiashi have issued a stern warning to the encroachers to stay off the said land.

According to them, the family has never sold the land to any individual or company and that what is currently ongoing on the land is illegal and the family will soon strike if situation persists.

They averred that they had information that the land is being sold to some developers, “We have never sold that land to anybody and we have also not instructed anybody to sell the land on our behalf. The land is a family land and we will appreciate it if those entering the land unlawfully, desist and pack of all their materials,” the elders said.

They said the said land has been left un-touched for several years because it has been reserved for a special purpose and that for people to try to take advantage of the fact that the land is left open, and to sell it to unsuspecting individuals cannot be entertained.
