The Reinforced Exceptional Partnership, envisioned by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron, has now entered its full implementation phase, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch stated Thursday in Rabat.

“This partnership is no longer based solely on deep historical ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, it also forms part of a shared strategic vision, founded on a clear political convergence, renewed trust, and a common ambition to work together to promote solutions to major challenges of our time,” Akhannouch stated during a joint press briefing with French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, following the 15th Morocco-France High-Level Meeting.

Pointing out that the progress made since President Macron’s state visit to Morocco in October 2024 already demonstrates the relevance of this vision, he pointed out that in less than two years, over 40 high-level visits and meetings have marked the relationship between the two countries, bringing together governments, institutions, local authorities, economic operators, universities, and civil society around a single goal: to give concrete expression to the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership.”

“Even today, having 22 Moroccan and French ministers in attendance illustrates an exceptional Meeting and a shared commitment of our two governments,” the Head of government stated.

He also noted that “this political momentum finds a natural extension in the results of our economic cooperation: the agreements concluded today complement the 22 strategic agreements—standing for nearly € 10 billion —signed in the presence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron in October 2024.

These agreements showcase a shared commitment to anchoring the partnership between the two countries in a framework of sustainable economic transformation, he emphasized, noting that the 11 new agreements and cooperation instruments adopted during this 15th High-Level Meeting embody this same commitment.

“They cover such essential areas as health, transportation, civil aviation, decentralized cooperation, education, the Arabic language, and several strategic sectors set to further strengthen our two complementary economies,” Akhannouch explained.

He further noted that the political dialogue between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic has never been so robust and well-structured. “It is now based on renewed trust and a growing convergence of views on key regional and international issues,” he said.

“In accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom will resolutely continue to implement the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership. The monitoring mechanisms we have decided to strengthen—joint commissions, working groups, and sectoral committees—will be tasked with ensuring the strict fulfillment of the commitments made, accelerating ongoing projects, and identifying new initiatives that meet the shared ambitions of our two countries,” Akhannouch concluded.
