Two Municipal Chief Executives and two District Chief Executives in the Northern Region who were involved in an accident on the Tamale – Accra highway on Monday dawn, are receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The Gushegu Municipal Chief Executive, Bimbilla Municipal Chief, Mion District Chief Executive and the Zabzugu DCE, were travelling in one vehicle to Wa in the Upper West Region, to join President Nana Akufo-Addo for the launch of government’s Rearing for Food and Jobs flagship programme.
Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, who spoke to the media said the victims cannot be transferred to Accra due to their current condition.
“They are seriously affected but they are working. The doctors in the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where we are now, I am very happy to announce that they have succeeded in stabilizing their condition.”
This incident comes on the back of a similar one involving Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on the Takoradi-Cape Coast highway months ago.
