The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Shlomit Sufa, who was first to present his credentials, noted that he arrived in Ghana last August and has been impressed with the warmth and love of Ghanaians towards the state of Israel.

He indicated that during his tour of duty in Ghana, he is looking forward to more fruitful partnerships that will strengthen the relationship of Ghana and Israel at the government-to-government, business-to-business and people-to-people levels.

Cuban Ambassador to Ghana

The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs Anette Chao Garcia, after presenting her letters of credence said she will devote all her efforts and energy towards enhancing the already strong ties of friendship and cooperation that exists between Ghana and Cuba for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two sovereign countries.

Ambassador of Egypt

On his part, Ambassador of Egypt to Ghana, Aldesouky Mahmoud Youssef, recalled what he says is the enduring ties of friendship and cooperation that existed between the founding leader of Egypt Gaml Abdel Nasser and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

He noted that President Akufo-Addo’s “farsighted policies and transcendent leadership has brought so many dividends to the Republic of Ghana”.

During his period of stay in Ghana, Ambassador Youssef said he will do his utmost to increase and strengthen the relationship between Ghana and Egypt politically, economically, commercially, educationally, culturally and in healthcare.

Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea

Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Ghana, Mauricio Mauro Epkua Obama Bindang, in his remarks said his country is looking forward to promoting exchanges with Ghana in the economic, social and cultural sectors of Equatorial Guinea.

“In an increasingly globalized world, Equatorial Guinea and Ghana are called to work together in order to consolidate the south-south cooperation which we would like to be called, ‘The Cocoa Route’,” Ambassador Obama Bindang said.

Japanese Envoy

The Japanese envoy when he took his turn said the increasing momentum of economic engagement between Japan and Ghana through trade and investment has led to the establishment of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Accra.

He added that Japanese countries are working hard to take advantage of the AfCFTA office in Accra to establish further and expand their businesses in Africa through Ghana.

Greece and Bulgarian

The Greece and Bulgarian Ambassadors when they presented their letters, pledged to work hard to deepen the relationships of their respective countries with Ghana.

Ambassador of Greece to Ghana, Ioannis Plotas, said Ghana remains an important and reliable partner in an unstable and volatile region and that during his tour of duty, he will work to further enhance Greek-Ghana relations and cultivate new dimensions.

Bulgarian Ambassador to Ghana, Yanko Vasilev, appealed to President Akufo-Addo, in line with the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations, to assist to protect Bulgaria’s diplomatic properties from a year-long illegal encroachment and an illegal building activity on a land that is leased to the embassy.

He praised recent bilateral cooperation agreements between the National Library of Bulgaria and Ghana Library Board and the Bulgaria News Agency and the Ghana News Agency.

President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo in his response to the various messages of solidarity from the seven envoys, assured them that his government is ready to work with them at all levels to ensure that they have a successful tour of duty in Ghana.

The President also praised the relationship that exists between Ghana and all the seven countries, indicating that every effort will be made by his administration to further deepen same.

He assured the diplomats that members of his administration such as the Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Osei Opare; the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and her Deputies, are at their disposal to assist in their work here in Ghana.
