Opanyin Abraham Kwaku Adusei, an 82-year-old farmer from the Eastern Region, has been honoured as the 2025 Overall Best National Farmer at the 41st National Farmers Day celebration held in Ho, Volta Region.
Selected from a pool of outstanding farmers nationwide, Mr. Adusei received a cash prize for his long-standing commitment, innovation, and exceptional contribution to Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Other top awardees included 48-year-old Osman Kadiri from the Greater Accra Region, who placed first runner-up, and 63-year-old Charles Gyato from the Oti Region, who was named second runner-up. Madam Grace Owusuaah was also recognised as the 2025 National Best Female Farmer. All recipients were presented with cash prizes.
President John Dramani Mahama presented the awards and praised the winners for their dedication, resilience, and key role in national development.
In his remarks, Mr. Adusei expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to work closely with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to help modernise the farming sector and improve livelihoods.
