The Aburi Police Commander, Supritendent Aryetey Quaye, has been warned to meddling in land conflicts that are already pending before the court.

Already, Superintendent Ayetey Quaye has been criticized for being biased towards some land owners. She has also been accused of disrespecting orders from the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander not to engage in   land disputes between the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Comet Properries and the Chief Executive Officer of El Glory properties at Kwabenya in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

This came to light at a press conference over the weekend when the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EL Glory Company limited, Nana Oppong Kyekyeku, revealed that the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander had on several occasions warned the Aburi Municipal Police Commander to stay off the issue since it does not fall within her jurisdiction.

He alleged that the Aburi police Commander had been bribed by Comet Properties, and that was leading her disrespect the Greater Accra Commander.

He also expressed worry about the conduct of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Comet Properties, Mr Kyeremateng, who he accused of illegally harassing his workers on a land he legally acquired from the Nii Odai Ntow Family Customary Land Secretariat.

He added that the said Comet properties CEO has failed to produce his document to the police for a search to be conducted.

He thus, appealed to the IGP and the National Security to intervene in the matter because the police have failed to protect him to commence his work.

According to Nana Oppong Kyekyeku , four years ago the then Regional CID requested that both parties  produced their guarantor and site plans but Mr Kyeremateng failed to produce both his guarantor and document so he was directed to go ahead and work but Mr Kyeremateng wouldn’t allow him  and has been  using the police and land guards to harass him.

He emphasized that comet properties CEO is hiding behind the Aburi divisional police command to ferment trouble.

“I legally acquired the land from the Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya, and I can’t therefore wait to lose a property I have invested a lot in,” he lamented.

For his part, the legal officer for the Nii Odai Ntow Family Customary Land Secretariat, Mr Seth Asante Wiafe, hinted that their client EL Glory Company limited purchased 45 acres of land from the Nii Odai Ntow Family Customary Land Secretariat in conjunction with the families.

The Nii Odai Ntow Family was adjudged owners of all 22, 000 acres of lands in Accra.

After a successful meeting with the IGP, the parties were asked to submit their documents and route of title.

The matter was referred to the Greater Regional Police Command and both parties were asked to produce their respective site plans for a search to be conducted at both Greater Accra Lands Commission as well as Eastern Regional Lands Commission.

The search revealed however that, the land is situated in Accra and not the Eastern region.

In view of that, the police asked the Nii Odai Ntow family and their guarantor to go ahead with their work.

Attempts by the family to work on the land proved futile because the police failed to offer the needed protection to the family to take possession of their property.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the Aburi Police Commander before this publication prove futile
