Naa Toshie, a key campaigner for Kennedy Agyapong’s presidential bid, has described the outspoken lawmaker as the solution to Ghana’s growing youth unemployment challenge, as she continues engagements with delegates in the Bono Region.
Speaking during campaign interactions across parts of the region, Naa Toshie said Ghana needs a leader with practical experience in job creation, stressing that Ken Agyapong’s record in private enterprise distinguishes him from the rest of the field. According to her, unemployment remains the single most pressing issue confronting young people, and the country can no longer afford leadership that focuses on promises without results.
“Ken Agyapong has created jobs long before seeking the presidency. He understands what it takes to build businesses and employ people. That is why I say he is the answer to youth unemployment,” she told delegates.
She explained that Ken Agyapong’s campaign is anchored on a clear jobs-first agenda aimed at empowering the youth through enterprise growth, industrial expansion and strong support for local businesses. Naa Toshie noted that his vision aligns with the aspirations of young Ghanaians who are eager to work and contribute meaningfully to national development but lack opportunities.
Addressing delegates, she urged them to look beyond rhetoric and assess candidates based on their track records. She argued that Ken Agyapong’s background as an employer gives him a practical understanding of the challenges facing entrepreneurs and the policy interventions needed to unlock large-scale employment.
“The youth need jobs, not sympathy. Ken represents hope because he has demonstrated capacity,” she added.
Delegates who interacted with the campaign team welcomed the message, describing youth unemployment as a critical issue that must shape the party’s choice of flagbearer ahead of the 2024 general election. Some noted that a candidate with strong private-sector experience would be better positioned to drive job-led economic growth.
As the NPP’s internal contest intensifies, Naa Toshie’s tour of the Bono Region is expected to further amplify Ken Agyapong’s central campaign message—Jobs, jobs and more jobs for the youth—a theme his team believes will resonate strongly with delegates and the wider electorate.
