The Abusuapanin of the Abor Ewusi Twidan Royal Family of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Ahumka has accused the new Divisional Police Commander of the Gomoa Millennium City in Central Region, ACP Prince Waabi for being in bed with a popular Chief land guard, Kwesi Alhaji who constantly terrorizes and harasses land developers of the area.
Speaking at a Press Briefing at Gomoa, Nana Ahumka alleged that every week Kwessi Alhaji allegedly pays the Commander to enable him go about his land guard activities with ease.
According to Nana Ahumka, the Millennium City Divisional Police Division is allegedly the most corrupt division in the whole Central Region and averred that, although the division is the youngest in the Region, which was created just last year in December, it is the most corrupt.
He said it is unfortunate that the new Police Commander who they the residents and indigenes think was coming to save them from difficulties is rather in bed with the said land guards Chief who torments people out there all the time.
He alleged further that the new Commander, ACP Prince Waabi has formed four teams which include, land guards who use force to take money from sand winners, take fence wall fees, digging fees and roofing fees among other strange and illegal fees from unsuspecting land developers and give such moneys to the Police to influence them to cheat the people there.
Nana Ahumka noted that, as the Kasoa area is hot and land guards and their activities are checked there, most of the land guards have moved to the Millennium City where land guards activities are tolerated and accommodated by the Police.
Nana Ahumka further alleged that because Kwesi Alhaji has been allegedly paying the Police so they refuse to patrol the area to flush out criminals although the Church of Pentecost has donated a brand New Pick-up Vehicle to the Police for Patrol duties.
The Abusuapanin and the Royal Twidan family used the platform to appeal to the IGP to remove the Millennium City Commander because their lives are in danger, adding that since the Millennium City Divisional Police Commander was transferred to the area, land guard cases have significantly increased.
He however noted that the Chiefs and elders of Gomoa Fetteh are poised to stage a big demonstration against the police chief and his team over their conduct.
Meanwhule, in an interview with ACP Prince Waabi he denied the allegations and indicated that since he assumed duty as the Divisional Commander, he has not received any single case against the said Kwesi Alhaji.
He said the police are there to protect lives and properties and that he has never been involved with any land guard.
ACP Prince Waabi however challenged his accusers to go to court with any accusations they have against him, stressing that he is performing his duties as a police commander and will not renege on his duty, not for anything.
