The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Divine Agorhom, has called on the General Overseer of Royalhouse Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Anhrah, to do desist from false politics that would undermined the image of the country.
Chairman Divine said though he has no right to prevent any man of God like Rev. Ankrah from involving in politics, he expects him to be fair to issues.
In his reaction as Chairman to a recent statement made by Rev. Ankrah, that the Dumsor was solved by former President John Dramani Mahama’s government, Chairman Agorhom described the statement as baseless one that should not come from a man of God like the respectful Rev. Ankrah.
“I don’t mean to attack Rev. Ankrah but I only want to educate him that the Dumsor was addressed by the current NPP government and not former president Mahama as he has reportedly stated” he said.
He however pleaded with all communication members of the party to be mute on the issue since he has already spoken as regional chairman of the party.
“I expect the man of God to be factual on issues and not to make statement that would undermined the development of our dear country,” Chairman Agorhom observed.
Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah, the General Overseer of Royalhouse Chapel International last Sunday disclosed in a sermon and published on several media platforms that Dumsor ended in 2016
He said former President John Mahama and the NDC solved the power crisis that engulfed the nation before they were voted out in 2016.
Speaking to his congregation in Accra, Re. Ankrah said every president Ghana has ever had did something while in office.
“You say John Mahama hasn’t done anything for this nation? That’s a lie. He was able to stabilize electricity and power before he left office”, Rev Korankye Ankrah told his congregation on Sunday, 1 November 2020 when he catalogued the achievements of all the Presidents of the fourth republic, as part of his teachings about honouring rather than insulting the political fathers of the land.
According to Rev Korankye Ankrah, every Ghanaian leader has contributed to the country’s development and must, therefore, be honoured and not denigrated because of politics.
