Condolence messages and visits continue to pour in to the home and office of the Editor-in-Chief of The New Crusading GUIDE, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, following the demise of his mother, Madam Gloria Aba Kyiriba Addison, who departed to the world beyond at the Tema Maritime Hospital on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
Last Monday, a delegation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by the National Chairman, Freddie Blay and the General Secretary, John Boadu, visited the residence of Mr. Baako to commiserate with him and assured him of the party’s support in this difficult time.
Yesterday, Tuesday 16th March, this year, was supposed to be another day of mourning for the passing on of Madam Gloria Addison, but it was a moment of nostalgia as Executive of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) visited to console the bereaved Snr. Journalist whom they called their “son”.
The CPP Executive led by its Chairperson Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong-Kumankumah, assured Kweku Baako of their support in these trying moments saying, “You’re our son. Your mom was our wife so we can’t leave you alone like that. It’s God who gives and taketh so let’s give praise”
Moments after exchange of pleasantries, the CPP Executive who seemed familiar with the house (Kofi Baako’s North Labone residence) recalled their moments in the house and with the Baako family.
Receiving them, Mr. Baako thanked them for their show of love and commended the leadership of the party for their resolve to continue the Nkrumah legacy.
“I must be honest that it takes extraordinary resolve to lead the CPP in modern times politics and I think you (Executive) must be commended,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the CPP but insisted that the surest way for the party to remain very vibrant was “to focus on some Parliament seats and not Presidential”.
Later in the afternoon, two security gurus, former National Security Minister under President Kuffour’s government, Francis Poku and former IGP, David Asante-Apeatu also called on Mr. Baako to express their condolences.
Meanwhile, the Tema Joint Church in Community 7, will host the One Week Remembrance Service for the late Aba Kyiriba Addison, popularly known as Sweet Gloria, at 8:30am prompt. The attire for the occasion would be Black and White, with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
