The relatively unprecedented developmental projects spread over every corner of the Adansi Asokwa District Assembly of the Ashanti region have courted the love and affection for the young District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon Andrews Adu – Boahen.
Adansi Asokwa district was created by Legislative Instrument (L. I 2331) 2018 and was carved out of Adansi North District in 2018 to deepen decentralization and make local governance more effective and efficient in terms of service delivery.
It has been established that, the Assembly irrespective of lack of major companies have done well in areas of development.
Speaking in an interview with the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, the DCE disclosed that the he has constructed and facilitated Twenty Nine (29) different infrastructural projects in the Basic and Senior High Schools across the district.
According to him, the district provided 1,200 Dual and Mono desks to schools in 2018 and in 2020, distributed 1,000 Dual and Mono desks.
He said the Assembly also distributed 300 round tables and 1200 chairs in 2019.
Speaking on the interventions he instituted in the area of health, the DCE disclosed that he has managed to construct two (2) different Community – Based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compounds in two selected communities; One of the health center at Adansi Asokwa through the 1-million-1-constituency initiative.
On Agriculture, Hon Adu-Boahen has distributed over 50, 000 oil palm seedlings between 2019 and 2020 for Perd Programme and has provided number of Motor bikes to AEAs through the MAG Programme.
On Water and Sanitation, there has been the construction of 15 institutional and community toilets and 20 mechanization of an existing borehole, drilling and mechanization of solar power water system and some small water systems in selected communities.
H also averred that the Assembly has supported over 354 Persons living with Disabilities, in the District, adding that the Assembly also supported over 300 women through MASLOC.
On Local Economic Development, the Assembly constructed three markets, No. 12 Market Stalls at Pipiiso, Adansi Asokwa and Aboabo No. 2.
The Assembly according to Hon Andrews Adu-Boahen is constructing Adansi Asokwa district assembly block through their Common Fund and also constructing Adansi Asokwa Circuit Court and the Court residency.
Hon Andrews Adu-Boahen took the opportunity to commend his affable, dynamic and hardworking Member of Parliament for the Adansi Asokwa constituency, Hon Kobina Tahiru Hammond for playing a pivotal role through lobbying for most of the developmental projects for execution by the assembly.
He appealed to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, Civil Society Organizations and the entire residents of the Adansi Asokwa district to support the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and all his appointees in prayers so that they can deliver on their mandate.
