Abass Zakaria, popularly known as Governor has declared his intention to contest the parliamentary seat of Tamale central on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP.
Abass Governor is banking his hopes on the experience garnered over the years as a native and grassroots fellow of the party in the Tamale central constituency.
His indecision to contest the seat is however bringing discomfort to some of his opponents who contested the seat in past terms and lost but managed to contest again through determination.
Governor made the declaration after he donated some items including food, drinks, water and undisclosed amount of money to constituency delegates when he was touring on Tuesday to observe the ongoing limited voter registration at the various pulling stations in Tamale.
He said the people of Tamale central need someone who will understand their concerns for immediate and long term solutions, adding that they see no other person than Abass Governor.
He explained that he is always ready and willing to serve his people by putting himself up for elections and also work in their interest.
“The time has come for me to save my people on a higher platform than what I am currently doing”.
“I received more than 50 people in my office in a day to solve their problems. I think its I enhance my work to liberate the youth and set them free”. Governor said.
He promised to provide all needed platforms to meet the demands of the people of Tamale Central and also establish a revolution fund to provide financial support for the people and help them engage in some profitable economic ventures.
He however, condemned the allegation that northern politicians doesn’t help but was quick to note that “being a good politician is not about how fast you can communicate; is about how deep you can think to liberate your people” Governor noted.
He said he would ensure that his people are taught how to fish than give them fish.
